The Direction

Al Arabiya, a TV news station based in Dubai, embarked on a transformative project: reshaping the Middle East’s media landscape. Our mission? To refresh their digital presence and craft a visual language that aligned with their core values and vision. In essence, we aimed to give the Middle East a voice that demanded attention.

The System

We embarked on the journey of creating a design system that would stand the test of time. We aimed to eliminate distractions, resulting in a clean, simple, and easy-to-follow system. The consistency and playfulness of our design allowed the editorial team to produce dynamic layouts effortlessly. But our work didn't spot there. We took on the exciting challenge of redesigning Al Arabiya's entire digital ecosystem in English and Arabic. The inherent complexities of working with distinct alphabets and reading directions added an extra layer of excitement to the project.

In summary, our modular design system paved the way for a seamless implementation, resulting in a cohesive digital experience for Al Arabiya's users.

Role Overview

As Creative Director, I led a large design team and provided substantial support for development, creating a space where the news takes centre stage. Our unique product enables users to delve into meaningful and relevant information without compromise. It offers a serene atmosphere and transforms the Middle Eastern news media landscape, introducing a fresh approach to a crucial sector.
